Building your Death Notebook or Life Binder
About this course
Most of us know, on some level, that we should have our important information gathered and accessible. Documents, accounts, instructions, preferences. Not because we’re expecting something to happen—but because life is unpredictable, and the people we love deserve clarity instead of chaos.
A death notebook or life binder is not about preparing for death. It’s about preparing for moments when someone else may need to step in for you: after an illness, during a crisis, in grief, or simply when you can’t be the one answering questions. It is an act of care that says, “You won’t have to guess. You won’t have to dig. You won’t have to wonder what I wanted.”
This work can be emotionally heavy. It brings up guilt for not having done it sooner, grief for what’s already been lost, and overwhelm at the sheer scope of it all. That’s why this course moves gently. We focus on progress, not perfection. On compassion, not completion.
Inside the course, we explore the deeper reasons behind each section—medical, legal, digital, daily life—not just what to collect, but why it matters, who it helps, and how it reduces stress at the hardest moments. You’ll be guided to make thoughtful choices that reflect your values, your relationships, and the realities of your life.
This is preparation as an act of love.
