About this course

Course 1: Company Onboarding & Culture
This course introduces you to the Maddox Money Matters network and its core principles. You will learn about our mission to Empower, Educate, and Elevate both our team and our clients. The training clarifies your role as an independent contractor, outlining the benefits of our partnership and the support system available to you. You'll be introduced to our firm's technology and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key processes, ensuring you understand how to work efficiently and in alignment with our high standards.

The training also covers your responsibilities for protecting client data and the severe consequences of non-compliance, ensuring you can operate with integrity and security.

Course 3: Basic Individual Income Tax (Form 1040)
This course is your essential guide to the technical side of tax preparation. You'll learn the structure of the Form 1040, the cornerstone of all individual tax returns. The training covers all key components, including:

Filing status rules and the importance of confirming them correctly.
Common income sources, such as W-2 wages and 1099-NEC for independent contractors.
Adjustments to income that lead to Adjusted Gross Income (AGI).
The difference between Standard and Itemized Deductions and how to choose the best option for a client.
An introduction to key supporting schedules like Schedule C and Schedule SE, which are critical for self-employed clients.
