Middle School History & Civics
About this community
This community was created for middle school Social Studies teachers who want a place to share ideas, ask questions, and talk about the work of teaching history.
Our purpose is simple: to create a professional community where middle school Social Studies teachers can learn from and support one another.
Inside the community, you’ll find conversations about:
• Teaching U.S. history, civics, and geography
• Lesson ideas and classroom strategies
• Ways to make historical topics engaging
• Professional discussions with teachers who understand the classroom
If we haven’t met yet, I’m Carolyn Wahl. I’ve been an educator for over 25 years, most of that time teaching middle school humanities. Today I work at a local university supporting pre-service teachers.
If you’re new here, check out the welcome post and introduce yourself. Tell us where you’re from and what Social Studies classes you teach. Then visit the Free Teacher Resources section and grab your resources as a member.
