Who Is Shaping Your Obedience?

The people shaping your business decisions are also shaping your walk with God, whether you realize it or not. That can be uncomfortable to admit. Most of us believe we can listen to every podcast, follow every expert, consume endless business advice, and simply filter out what doesn't fit. The false belief sounds like this: "I can stay spiritually aligned while letting misaligned voices shape my decisions." But Scripture paints a different picture. Proverbs 13:20 tells us that walking with the wise produces wisdom. Paul warns that bad company corrupts good character. God never treats influence as neutral because influence trains our thinking long before it changes our behavior. If every voice you hear measures success by speed, visibility, revenue, and constant growth, those ideas slowly begin to sound normal. Before long, you stop asking, "Is this obedient?" You begin asking, "Will this work?" That is how drift begins. Not through one major decision. Through repeated agreement with ideas that were never tested against God's Word. Maybe you've noticed it. You hear advice that sounds smart, but something inside you feels unsettled. You feel pressure to keep up. You wonder if you're falling behind. You question whether obedience is enough. Those thoughts deserve more than another strategy. They deserve to be brought before Scripture. Today, don't just evaluate your next business decision. Evaluate the voices helping you make it. The people you listen to most are discipling your ambition. Make sure they are also strengthening your obedience.
