💭 When Everyday Decisions Take a Physical Toll

There have been 26 FDA foodborne illness outbreak investigations in 2026, involving everything from lettuce and berries to the chickens and the eggs. Shoot, even powdered infant formula has been affected. Leaves someone wondering, well, what exactly should I eat?! 😳 Food safety alerts are there to help protect us, but they can also get us asking questions we may not normally consider: - Did I buy that recently? - Which brands are impacted? - Can I get a refund?! - Should I stop eating lettuce for a while? It can be easy to start questioning whether an entire category of food is safe, even if only specific products have been affected. The reality is, the issue may be related to a specific event, location, or time. Other times, there may be a broader situation worth considering. With everything else happening in life, we don't always have the time or energy to give that level of attention to where we source our food. This is one of thousands of examples of things we encounter and consider every day. Something as simple as a normal grocery trip can turn into a forensic crime scene investigation very quickly. 🔎 That's attention, research, and decision-making we may not have planned for. When we talk about noticing at Empower GRIT, this is the kind of stuff we're talking about: the everyday things that take more time, attention, or energy than we planned for, sometimes without us even realizing it. Turns out, the lettuce isn't the only thing that can take a toll on our bodies. 💙 Empower GRIT | Notice. Understand. Choose.
