🧠 MicroLearning | Catch the Conversation

⏱️ Time: 30–60 seconds 🧠 Focus: Inner dialogue and attention 🧰 What you need: Nothing 🪑 Position: Anywhere Have you ever caught yourself having an entire conversation with someone who isn't even there? Maybe you're preparing for something you're going to say, replaying something that already happened, or arguing your point exceptionally well... in the shower. 😆 Our inner voice helps us do a lot of things. Sometimes, though, we get caught repeating the same thoughts without getting anywhere new. Let's notice what yours is doing. 🔹 ACTIONS 1. Take a moment whenever you notice yourself thinking something through. 2. Pay attention to what the conversation is about. 3. See if you can recognize what you're doing: - 🗓️ Planning: Figuring out what comes next. - 🗣️ Rehearsing: Practicing what you might say or do. - 🔁 Replaying: Revisiting something that already happened. - 🧩 Problem-solving: Exploring possibilities or working toward an answer. - 💭 Something else: Not every thought fits neatly into a category. That's it. No need to stop the thought or make yourself think differently. 🔎 NOTICE - Is this conversation helping you accomplish something? - Are you discovering anything new, or returning to the same thought? - How do you feel while you're having it? - Does the conversation change when you notice it? You might find it useful, frustrating, comforting, distracting, or something else entirely. 🧠 UNDERSTAND A difficult thought might help us recognize a problem, while a reassuring thought might keep us avoiding one. Or worse, we may be looping without making any progress, wasting time and energy that could be spent elsewhere. What's worth exploring is what the conversation is doing for you. 🌱 CHOOSE If you notice a conversation that's helping, you might simply let it continue. If you notice yourself circling the same concern, you could experiment with asking: “What would I suggest to someone else in this situation?” 💙 Empower GRIT | Notice. Understand. Choose.
